If the left sector is engaging with hardly any movement from turning the steering wheel adjust the backlash in the right steering sector nest. Dollar Bill posted the procedure below:

The tooth space on the left sector also can be identified by a dot or mark. The bearing is eccentric in the sector shaft bearing housing and should be installed with the notch located at the bottom. Rotate the housing clockwise (as viewed from the right side of the tractor) to reduce backlash.

The key here is to take the backlash out of the left sector first and then the right sector. Check the other components of the steering also Spindles etc. The right sector engages the left sector. I bought a tractor once and the woodruff key was missing causing sloop. If you start adding up all the places where a little play can occur it adds up to a lot of play. You can do it!
