Jubilee wiring harness

Just installed a new wiring harness from Dennis Carpenter on my jubilee, couldn’t get it to do anything. I had power from battery to the solenoid but the yellow wire that goes to junction block from solenoid had no power seemed strange to me, started to test everything and found the yellow wire to amp gauge was the hot wire (amp gauge wasn’t hooked up at the time). Is it normal to get power from amp gauge?
