I realized I didn't give much detail in my previous post. I had a complete engine rebuild on my '52 8n with side distributor. This is what he did: New pistons, sleeves, rings, main bearings, rod bearings, oil pump housing/rebuild kit; crankshaft reground, head planed/ground. Also a new oil gauge. He brought the assembled, running tractor back to me. I started and ran it several times but never for a really long time; nor did I work it hard. I noticed on start-up that the oil gauge needle hesitated for a split second then snapped to 40-50 lbs. After setting for a few days it stayed at zero a few seconds before snapping over. Then after setting for a week it doesn't move at all. Since all internal parts are new is align boring/honing still an issue? Just want some opinions and advice before I call him. Thanks. Russ
