Cotter pin is on the inside, so you have to remove the trumpet to get to it. If you remove the left trumpet, you can remove the differential to get to the pin on the right side.

I remove the wheel before I remove the trumpet and axle. Some on this site remove the wheel and trumpet as one. Need some type of hoist to do that.
