So, being the dead of winter here I have my 1952 Ford 8N inside and am doing some maintenance. I just noticed oil dripping from the fins on the bottom of the oil pan on the engine.. about 1/3 of the way back. I wiped it all down and the next day it was back. I checked the oil filter and oil tube on the left side and the governor on the right, thinking one of them was the source but they are not. So, I am thinking oil pan gasket? It is not easy to see anything in that area. I can see at first glance that replacing any gasket would be a much tougher job than I want. So, I am wondering if tightening the bolts would possibly stop this? i will check torque values. Engine was completely overhauled in June 2012. Can anyone suggest a fix? Maybe I should just let it drip and watch it? Oil level on the dipstick is not reflecting any change.
Love my 8N.....even more as I age! Dave
