Your right, steering performance goes out the window in the deep stuff, and adding weight in the rear scoop takes poor steering down to no steering. With my existing front end configuration I am getting bogged down in the really deep stuff and loose my steering. I think I have taken it as far as I can with wheels in the front and need a plan B, skis or full tracks. I would have to make new tracks with wider track spacing to get them to go around the front wheels and rely on brakes for steering but with my leaky axle seals I have not had reliable braking for years, so skis my be the best short term solution for this winter.
