Sealant on mating surfaces

I am making progress on getting the Old Girl back together; sometimes you just have to make do. My question is what sealant, if any, to use on the mating surfaces? I will be getting the trumpet back on; I have all the gaskets on hand. Do I use any sort of sealant on the trumpet/centre housing surfaces or just the gasket without any sort of sealant?
