Which model -9N/2N or 8N? Front mount or side mount DIS if on latter? There are 2, maybe 3 ways to correctly perform a 12V switch over job on an N-Tractor. Go to HOW-TO's/E:LECTRICAL and find WIRING PICTOGRAMS by JMOR - here's a sample. Just because you have a 12V battery doesn't mean it is wired correctly for a 12V system. As Bruce said, there is no 12V condenser made but you can get a 12V coil. Don't know where you got your information from but you might be confused with the Ballast Resistor and/or the external 1-OHM resistor required if coil is 6V. I show the OEM 6V/POS GRN SYSTEM for a 9N/2N as reference so you can see what is correct until you get your copies of the ESSENTIAL MANUALS and document. There are differences in the 9N/2N and 8N electrical systems so what is swapped out and what stays is imporatnt.
