Welcome newbie, so, you have a mutt - an early 8N engine in a 9N body. Not rare, many like it. Forget serial numbers - they only ID the engine block anyway. You do need to invest in the most important tools you can get for your new N -the ESSENTIAL MANUALS. Read before operating. Know the diff between the 9n/2N and 8N's. Air vent on 9N/2N hoods did not exist -air cleaners were also different than 8Ns. You have much to learn before operating or buying any new parts. The OEM FORD Electrical System is a 6V/POS GRN design. Many were switched over to 12V. Which do you have? Don't assume because your battery is 6V or 12V doesn't mean the system is wired correctly for that setup. Go to our HOW-TO's and MANUALS forums as well.
