1. The 8N ignition switch was originally mounted recessed under the left side of the hood.
Is that where your switch is located?
2. If it is in a different location, is it exposed to moisture and freezing temperature?
3. Has someone somehow inserted a foreign object into the switch?
4. Switchs are not difficult to replace if all else fails.
5. Let us know what you did to fix it.
