I recently picked up a machine sitting for 22 years according to the prior owner.
I poured a can of Seafoam into each cylinder before turning the front pulley more than about 10 degrees. With some valves open, I had it coming out the carb and the exhaust. It sat for a day and then I rotated it around and filled it again. plugs out for all this. I finally got it turned over by hand and the cylinders mostly cleaned out. Changed the oil, put juice to it, plugs out, rags over holes and cranked over. to blow it out. Then I made it run. Lots of smoke. It cleared out after about 30 minutes and still needs a bit of work.
