Yes it is running. Fires right up. Itís just the noise that I was concerned with. I have used it to push trees that have been cut down. I run it for 10 to 20 min then let it cool down. With it having set so long I didnít want to run it to much. I thought of it more like a break in period.
I have put a capful of marvel mystery oil in cyl 1 and 4 and let it set for hours. The noise is less now than it was. I have started it every day and let it run, hoping to keep everything lubricated. It rained for 2 days and I could not start it. The next day the noise was worse. By running it daily the noise decreases. Based on your description it sounds like a loose valve.
It seems to have good power, but at times it sounds almost like itís going to back fire but it doesnít. Maybe that is associated with the noise, or maybe a clue. Other than the chatter, everything else seems to work fine.
