Yes, as JMOR said, cracked pump base was most likely caused from water getting into sump, freezing, then trying to run system. It may have been like that when you bought the tractor -did you inspect the system when you purchased from previous owner? What color is the hydraulic oil? If oil is a murky brown or whitish color, it is contaminated with water. Oil should be a translucent, honey-like color. You won't find a new base -nobody makes the pumps new anymore, but they do pop up all the time on ebay, rebuilt and as-is. Replacing the hydraulic system isn't a difficult task, just time consuming, and best to have a buddy help. Pulling the top cover requires a certain method so read your ESSENTIAL MANUALS first. I advise to plan on repairing with a new cylinder and piston and other parts in the system as well.
