Carb cleanout

I have read and followed the procedures listed here and elsewhere for carburetor clean out. After removing all jets I soaked the castings first with carb cleaner, then with degreaser and rinsed in very hot water. Finally I blew out all passages with compressed air.

To be absolutely sure I am supposed to run wire down the tiny passages and that's where I'm stuck: I can run a straightened paper clip down some of the straight passages but ones that end in the throat of the carb are impossible for me to snake a wire into. I have soft copper "bell" wire but that won't make the turn.

Any suggestions appreciated.
