The info comes from John Smith's now archived Tractor ID/History page -see LINK. He says the change came sometime in 1940, s/n 9N-10276 - 9N-146017. I have the date won somewhere but Jason Grooms would know for sure. 1940 saw a lot of new changes, s/n 12500 was the start. Smooth hubs, snap-in cover; grille, new 10 x 28 hat rims, dipstick moved to name a few.
