The 9N, 2N, and 8N used the 129 CID Flat Head 4-Cylinder engine. When the NAA was released in SEP 1952, the 600 in 1953/54, it now had many better features like the OHV 134 CID 'Red Tiger' engine, better hydraulic system, LIVE PTO, flip-up hood, and the 650 and 660 offered a 5 Speed trans, and a few more so yeah, I'd say the 600 was step up from the 8N.
