OEM equipment was an AMMETER. Some fellas doing 12V switch out jobs change to a Voltmeter but I prefer to keep as an AMMETER - your call. The original 9N-10850-B was the 30/30 Induction 'Loop' Style AMMETER, effective after s/n 9N-4000 and used up thru all 9N, 2N, and 8N production. Aftermarket screw terminal-type AMP GAUGES are sold today. Get it and an aftermarket 0-50# oil gauge at JUST8Ns.com SEE HOW-TO's forum/ELECTRICAL for JMOR's Wiring Pictograms.
