I think you are referring to the Ditzler paint plant. For decades Ditzler was the main supplier of Ford Motor Paints. Ditzler was bought by PPG long before the N tractors came along but the name stayed on. PPG paint labels were showing up in increasing numbers at Ford as the years went by. Not aware of any DuPont paints at FMC. DuPont was the primary supplier to GM. DuPont may have bought the Mt Clemens plant at some point in time, I don't know. At Ford Tractor the color was 9/2N color was refered to being corporate gray. You may recall before the Blue Oval it was the Gray Oval. I have often seen the DuPont auto finishes(now Axalta) guys at the race track as they were primary sponsors of the 24 and associate on the other three HMS cars and still are.
