Good morning John, When installing a sherman step up or step down in the NAA or later models because of the location of the whole it's into the starter bump on the left side on the later models, some will alter the handle and others will reverse the handle to come out the opposite side of the tractor which I believe was done here. This is the reason you don't see many step up or downs in the later model and with the combos in full swing at that time why would you put in anything else.
