Front mount or angle mount distributor? 6V/POS GRN or 12V Switch out job? Many 'assumed' fuel issues turn out to be electrical and vice versa. I advise to not start replacing parts until you determine the true root cause problem and then only if defective and cannot be rebuilt. Baby steps; one system at a time. I'd start with the fuel flow test. Fails? Troubleshoot fuel system from tank and sediment bulb down to carb inlet elbow. Passes? Move onto electrical. Spark test pass or fail? Verify wiring is correct whether 6V or 12V. Realize that 99% of all non-starting/non-running issues are due to incorrect wiring. Be sure to do the fuel testing on a COLD non-running engine. Avoid gas spills. Dry up before dong any electrical/sparking. Leave distributor alone for now. I'd do a compete fuel system test first. I concur with Bruce(VA) - you cannot simply 'look' at the distributor and points and tell that way if there are any hiccups.
