Hello, I just got a new (old) ford 650. It is my first tractor and I am very excited to have it. But I am a complete amateur, so I am also very excited to be a part of this club. Good news is that I bought it off my friend and neighbor who has taken good care of it over the years. Anyway, the bendix was bad when I bought it, so we put on a new one and it cranked perfectly… for 4 days. Then it got stuck just like the one in the picture in the 3/8/20 thread (http://www.ntractorclub.com/forums/nboard/messages/252543.html). We tried to unlock it with the screw driver and wire brush and it didn’t budge. The tractor has been converted to 12V for some time. Will the Denso starter that TheOldHokie pointed us to (http://www.autoelec.com/html/ford_2n-8n-_9n.html) likely solve the problem? $250 is pricey but I’d like to nip the problem in the bud. Thanks!
