Thanks for the reply Tim. Unfortunately I am down in Roch Hills area - a bit of a hike from you. The post was actually on another forum (https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=ford&th=500557) with the same Photobucket issue you described.
I did remove the hood by myself with no problem but still have to remove the bolts for the gas tank (4 small and 3 large, one is missing). After looking at the amount of clearance I had from the manifold I decided to stay with steel line. I was thinking of buying this:
I may still use the existing fuel line but noticed that it seemed to slant upward coming off the valve before going south. I thought that was supposed to cause vapor lock.
If I do decide to run a new line, is there any issue with trying to straighten out a roll like the one above? Probably not be since they sell so many. I have a flare kit and bending tool on my list.
Another thing I was considering on the valve rebuild, instead of replacing the rivet with a screw, how about just plugging it flush? Not sure what with. What would be the ramifications of not having a stop point for the screw?
And yet another question comes to mind, there were no rubber bumpers at all, like:
Are these helpful, and if so where do they get placed?
