Did anything go bad on the starter other then the broken nose piece? I would find a welding shop and have it welded back together. The nose was a custom Funk part so you won't easily find one, and used would be your only choice. The rest of the starter is 8N except for a slightly modified 8N armature and a different starter drive.
Have seen the Michigan starters but that's about all I know of them.
Water pump is pretty straight forward, nothing too special. I assume you have the flathead six, so you will need a water pump for a 1949 to 1951 Ford 226 CI pickup or truck engine. You may need to press the pulley off of the old and put on the new if the new is not the same.
