I spent the greater part of this afternoon chasing a "failure to turn over" on my ATV. The green light came on but the starter would not spin. Charged the battery, cleaned the battery cables, ran the wires to the starter looking for dead shorts. Was ready to pull the plastic side panels off and check the starter and solenoid. Cursed. Was looking at the online schematics and reading ATV boards looking for starter failure ideas, when lo and behold one service tech mentioned "you wouldn't believe the times I have had ATV's brought to me for starter problems when the only problem was that the kill switch was engaged. Opps, I forgot about the kill switch. I went back out to the shop and sure enough, the kill switch was half-way between run and off. I switched it to run, hit the starter button and it fired right up. Lesson learned again for the umpteenth time. Check the simple things first. It usually is something simple. I knew that. LOL
