Plan on the vertical pipe eventually hitting a low-hanging limb. It will happen, so it is better if there is a weak spot built into the system near where it comes out from under the hood. Try to make sure that the top part can bend and even snap completely off without breaking anything else. Hopefully you are paying attention and see this happening before the stinkin-hot pipe hits you on the noggin. If you wear leather work gloves the stack can be twisted off and tossed to the side to cool off. If you weren't knocked silly, and can remember where this happened and where you tossed the pipe it's a lot easier to reinstall the vertical pipe than having to rebuild everything.
