At 400 engine rpm the distributor is turning 200 rpm, at 2,000 rpm the distributor is turning 1,000 rpm. I read the label on my cheap little power supply and its only putting out 1 amp at 12 volts dc. Could be why it shuts off after 14 second run time. Was having a hard time getting it to work the first time, until I changed the coil I was using and it suddenly started working. So I already found one dead coil in my box of parts to test and one good one.
Need a stronger power supply to I can run them for 20 minutes or so and check the coils with my laser thermometer. And open the plug gap to 0.25 instead of 0.025 since it is not in a combustion chamber.
