I've used a paint made by Eastwood Products called Silver Cad -see link. It mimics the OEM silver-blue cad plating almost perfectly. I've used it for acorn nut, throttle plate and lever, and gas tank. Then I found the CASE SILVER ARGENT wheel paint that I used on my hat rims, wheel nuts, and check chains and makes them look new again. I know there were a few guys repooping the stud extenders a few years ago. Jim UT was one but he has been out of the hobby for a while now. I know he did a study on the different ones used might still be in the archives here. I also believe that Ferguson wheels, some anyway, were 9/16-20 and those stud extenders were different.
