Pull off the cap and watch the points as cranking. There should be spark at the points. No spark? File the points.
Got spark?
See if spark comes out of coil.
Coil sparking?
Check plug wires.
Spark from coil but not plug wires?
Cracked rotor shorting to ground.
Should take a few minutes to eliminate the stump .
