If you look close at the rotating shaft when cranking the leveling box handle, there is a line scribed on the shaft. Crank until that line is about to disappear into the gearbox housing and the lift arms should be level. You may need to scrape gunk off to see the line.
Normally you only have a lift box on the right side. All of my tractors get modified with a leveling box on both sides. This is one of my favorite modifications. It only takes a little cobbling to alter the lower mount and limit chain hardware. This is more convenient and provides twice as much range of adjustment. That extra adjustment comes in handy when using one end of a blade to scrape a ditch.
