After trying various "rigs" to scrape gravel and clear snow from our driveway it became clear that a "real" tractor would be the right tool for the job. I wanted a back blade, 5' rotary cutter, and maybe even a small backhoe attachment. I spent several months looking at various tractors, but most were too big and way too expensive, especially with loader/backhoe attachments. It took a few months to decide the right tractor for our rolling, woodland property would be an 8N.
This is the 1948 8N I bought in May 2005. It ran great but was way behind on general maintenance. Turns out the engine on this tractor was originally a 1940 9N. This tractor was eventually parted-out.
I currently have this '52 8N, a '46-2N, and a '49/50 V8-8N.
