I may be thinking of something else but I'm feeling the standard 5/8-18 Thread size was 9/16-20 on some or perhaps on one end only. Cost effectiveness and demand are what drive reproduction efforts. That's why we don't see many of the early 9N aluminum parts repopped and others. The 10 x 28 45° Closed Center Bar tires Carpenter had repopped are a good example. I think they only sold one or two sets, and now no longer made.
