There was a recent discussion about the early 9N Ford-Ferguson and the Ignition ĎONí dash lamp. It wasnít used very long and are hard to find intact. Nobody repops them, and as is with most early rare 9N parts so locating an original is a long and often frustrating journey. Patience is a virtue so if you look long and hard enough, you just might get lucky. I did with early 9N A and B generators, steering wheel, and voltage regulator. Back in 2014 I had a new exact-as-original wiring harness made by Jim Guarino of Agri-Services in Alden, NY. It is the 9N-14401-B harness, used with the early 9Nís, from s/n 9N-4000 thru 9N-12500. It is correct in all aspects: color coded cloth wires and correct wire gauge sizes, wired for the 2-wire 9N-1000-A generator and 9N-101505-A Voltage Regulator and the wire for the dash lamp. It also included the Start Button that was mounted on the LH dash, and the Key Switch located on the RH dash panel. The MPCís only list the dash lamp assembly as p/n 9N-3702, with no other individual parts except the lens, p/n 9N-3701, the wire, 9N-13603, and the Bulb, p/n B-13466. This is the same bulb that is used in the TAURUS taillight, industry standard #63 6V.I found two NOS bulb sockets at a defunct dealer, marked in Ford/New Holland packaging as p/n 9N-13711. I had my original dash lamp and socket still on my 9N, but no wiring. My uncles had discarded all that long ago. I sent what I had to Jim and he wired it all in my new harness. Now, JUST8Ns sells a very good repop as well. Here are some pictures of the harness and dash lamp disassembled so those who are interested can see how it all is assembled.
