Welcome aboard! You will find a ton of useful information in our MANUALS and HOW-TO's forums as well as just posting your questions on the regular N-BOARD forum and HISTORY has a lot of info about these old N's as well. Interesting you are from the UK and have an N from Canada. It wasn't built there. All N's were built in the USA in Detroit, MI. First at the Rouge Complex in Dearborn, then after WWII at the Highland Park Plant. Most all N's exported to the UK were the NAN units which used TVO/kerosene burning units. It's your tractor and you can do with it as you wish, but a new fuel tank isn't that hard to obtain. There are a few aftermarket companies who make them and pries range from $50 to $235 USAD for a quality Dennis Carpenter reproduction. Get copies of the essential manuals too. There is lot more to a 6 VOLT system than having a 6V battery. Learn the wiring -download a copy of "WIRING PICTOGRAMS BY JMOR" from our HOW-TO's/ELECTRICAL forum -SEE LINK BELOW. Go to our LINKS and search for John Smith's archived pages, 'TRACTOR ID/HISTORY' to learn more. Also, download a copy of "75 Tips For N-Owners" by Bruce(VA). these along with the essential manuals will be important tools to have in your 9N rebuilding project. BTW, also recommended to shop for parts at Dennis Carpenter and/or Just8Ns -both will ship internationally.
