Syn oil is too thin to run until you get the OP up. OP is effected by bearing clearances when warm. That OP dropping to 5 PSI, yikes. If you have no metal in the pan, I would be looking at the OP mounting or the OP itself. If you had shavings in the oil, a tear down should be performed. For oil, I run the old diesel grade 15/40.
The heavy duty oil that has zinc in it to keep the flat tappet cams from going bad.
15/40 might be a bit thick, but her machine generally does not get used in the dead of winter.
