I went through the same thing with my early 2000.The original was really bad, bought a new one from a well respected vendor. 2 years later, leaks,then more leaks no mater what. Went to the NH dealer spent like 3 time more for theirs. End of story, Its been like 8 years , no problems. If I had to do it again I buy the dealer ship parts.
As a side note of how things have changed, When I got my first Ford tractor around 1981, I could go to the Ford dealer here and leave with all kinds of parts for my 9n
for $100.00, Now you get a fuel filter!
