Hi Cole, When I bought My 50 8N a few years ago I assumed that the previous owner had maintained the lift system fluids. I used the lift and noticed the pulsing and the pump got noisy under load. I took the lift cover off and the took out the PTO shaft and dropped the pump. there was about an inch of sludge in the bottom. After taking the pump apart and cleaning it with mineral spirits, and then cleaning out the rest of the sludge from the differential and transmission for about a week, I used diesel fuel to rinse out the rest and put it back together. The lift works flawlessly now. Listen to Tim Daley and the others, read the manuals and how to's on reworking the lift system and understand how it works, and everything will be fine.
