What do you mean by "solid" and "made differently"? You will also bed the backing plates -see LINK. The headlamp winged medallions were used from the first 9Ns, 1939 thru the early 8Ns, 1949. Early 9N wings were cast iron, then zinc. What year do you have? Your doglegs will have two punch-outs for the lights, unless there were already lights on it at one time and the punch outs removed. Early 9N smooth Dog legs had no punch-outs. Lighting kits were changed in mid-1949 and the lamps were now more rounded housings with the round-cup mounting piece, and the doglegs only had one punch-out. Reinforcement plates require a short hex bolt to secure them to the wings. Plates mount on the inside of doglegs. Wings are specific LH and RH, plates are not. Tract-O-Lite headlights have a hollow 1/2-20 special bolt the allows the wire to feed thru and lamps bolt up to the wings. Wire to the switch -get out your 39-53 MPC, as shown -not to the ignition switch. Look in HOW-TO's for more wiring info. If you need backing plates, wings, and T-O-L headlamps, I have some.
