OK, let's step back a minute here. You say "...when I raise the hydraulic lift it won't stop and goes all the way to the top...". With the (LH) PTO lever engaged, by using the (RH) Fingertip Lift Touch Control lever, when pulling it all the way to the top of the quadrant, it will raise the 3-point all the way up. Are you doing something different? When you replaced the cylinder, did you also install a new piston, the NAA type using the rubber O-Ring and leather backup wiper? It would have been prudent to also remove, inspect, and clean out the valve chambers at that time as well. Did you forget to install the drawbar control rod back into the pump base port? There are other things to check too like the cam follower pin for wear. Once all those are checked, other adjustments are detailed in the 8N Operator's Manual and I&T F-04 Manual too.
