Ok, woke up this morning and decided to start all over from the begining. Did compression test. Results:1- 110 psi in two pops dry. Wet- 140 first pop. #2- 110psi all 5 pops to get there dry, 120 psi in 2 pops wet. #3- 105 3 pops, 110 2 pops wet. #4- 110 2 pops dry, 115 2 pops wet. Not the best but should still run fair. Don't smoke.
Hadn't thought of backfireing for collapseing float but I can it happening. Good thought.but don't recall any backfireing but possible. And blowing air thru the inlet hole, 2 reasons that couldn't happen, 1: the thought of blowing 100psi into the carb makes me shudder!!! 2: the way I am running my fuel line at the carb end is sort of permanent till this runs good. I have excellent fuel flow from tank all the way out the bowl drain.
Dist. freshly rebuilt, seems to be doing good. Timeing at 4 btdc. When it runs it starts as soon as you hit the button.
Sorry this got so long. I'll go mow some lawn and contemplate for an acre or so.. Rusty
