I know this isn't what you asked, but do you know that the Ford Front Mount Distributor timing is set automatically when you rebuild the distributor and remount it correctly? The original Operator's Manual and the I&T F-04 Manual have the procedure to rebuild the distributor. The distributor has an offset tang on the back which when orientated correctly automatically sets your timing when the distributor is mounted. The firing order is 1,2,4,3 shown in picture, and it is important to have wiring correct as well. Look under ELECTRICAL in How-To's for Wiring Pictograms by JMOR for reference.
