If the old points are not pitted, changing the condenser could create a new problem. The new condenser might be the wrong rating for the system. The coating used on new points can cause them not to work electrically. Once removed, I've never had that coating come back. Check the gap again and make sure screws have not slipped. Look for other problems. I actually had the movable arm bend and break on a new set of "quality" points. Check the flexible copper strip and other wiring for problems.
