I just put in a set of points in my 1951 8N. It ran better than it ever had...for
about 45 minutes. Then, it began to sputter. I thought sure I had some water in the
gas as I had resurrected an old gas can for this years use. After much trial and error with a hose and a funnel, I determined my gas was fine. In desperation, I ran a piece of sandpaper through the points and was rewarded with a great running tractor again. That lasted for a little more than a minute. The points were not "blue streak" or
"standard". My FLAPS says they aren't made anymore. Is this true? Why do they go bad so quickly? Is it the condenser? That was "new" too...
