OK, it appears that I forgot to shut off the fuel the last time I used the tractor. How can I test if fuel got in the oil? I pulled the dipstick and put some of the oil on my fingers and did a sniff test but that didn't really tell me anything. The fuel bowl appears to be full. The hose from the air to the carb isn't tight; I don't have a clamp on it.
Or should I just dump the oil and replace it and not guess? I had used synethic oil and the oil is nice and clean since it hasn't been changed that long ago; hate to lose the money but don't want to ruin the engine.
I need to get one of the electric shut-off valves; I am always double checking the fuel shut off but I guess I got distracted the last time. I needed to haul wood today but maybe not.
