I've been using that exact same heater (or a clone) for many years. It's probably more wattage than needed to warm things up after even the worst sub-zero overnight temps we get in central VA. The magnetic heaters only work well if you can find a convenient flat spot at the bottom of the engine oil pan. There is a good spot towards the back on the 8N oil pan. I just attach the heater, plug it in, then go do something else for 30-60 minutes before cranking the engine. My gut tells me for northern Indiana, you might want to have crankcase and water heaters. I bought a water jacket heater that mounts in the lower radiator hose, but never installed it. The magnetic heater has proven to be all I need for our climate.
