How did you determine it was a bad starter button? It may be you have a dead battery. If all else is correct, but battery is bad, you can jump start it with your car/truck battery. Place gear shift in NEUTRAL, fuel valve open two turns, connect one jumper cable to the starter post, then turn key switch ON. Stand clear then touch the other battery cable to a metal ground like a running board for no more than 5-6 seconds at a time. If engines cranks/starts, it's a bad battery. If battery is good, you can remove the rubber boot from the starter button contact terminal and with key ON, arc spark with a screwdriver to ground and it should crank over.
