Oh brother do I remember! Best to clarify too that the drawbar clevis, the type you show is the later Ford Tractor style back then with the Hundred Series, and now sold as the aftermarket style, and/or the original Ford 8N -802 clevis bracket only bolt up to the 8N rear end diffy case. The 9N and 2N diffys did not have provision for the clevis bracket. Now, someone, either Zane or TOH, I think, makes a bracket that will bolt up to a 9N or 2N rear end diffy and accept the Ford 8N-802 clevis or later type like you have. FYI, the 8N-802 Clevis Bracket was standard equipment on every new 8N tractor. The Dearborn Swinging Drawbar was a dealer optional accessory but the clevis bracket was a standard tractor part. Just want to make sure others are aware that our tractor is a 1940 9N but after your little mishap, you found an old 8N rear end to replace it with. ; > )
