If that is the battery that was in it when you brought it home, chances are it is junk. Start with the basics first before buying any new parts. Verify battery is good and will sustain a charge under load. If bad, get a new good brand one. I've found that spending another extra $20 on a good Interstate or DEKA battery is well worth it than a bargain house priced tsc, Auto Zone, O'Reilly's, Wally World, et al battery. You can also perform your own generator motoring test -see our HOW-TO's here. Trusty local starter/alternator shop guy can bench test battery, generator, VR, and more too, usually for free. Ammeter discharge when lights are ON is normal.
