I find these scoops to be among the handiest implements. I have two of them (one I built myself based on factory models and one whose brand I can't recall at the moment). Both are reversible, although I always use them in reverse. They're great for moving loose soil, crushed rock, larger rocks, concrete blocks, etc. A few years ago I used my homemade scoop to haul an estimated 20 tons of limestone rocks for landscaping all around my house and yard. I first had to use a spud bar to get the rocks into a hauling position; took most of the summer.
