So I finally got around to throwing cheena parts at the Demonstrator for a tune up to make it run. I say cheena parts because no one is bragging made in usa any longer.
Hit the starter buttton and shazzam! It actually fired up and ran. Then it started to sputter and died. The drizzle made me go back inside and wait for a dry cloud to pass. Another hour or so and back out. Gas tank is full to the neck so that wasn't it.
Turn the gas screw all the way out and start it again. Same results, pump the choke rod, throttle up....It's a tryin' BANG! One good backfire and I realized the last guy didn't set the engine up the way I do. Time to drag out the timimg light and index the dist. From now on, replace/adjust the points to the same gap and never adjust the timing again unless the index mark moves and then just realign the index mark. I was hoping the last guy did that, stoopid me.
