This battery talk got me curious again. After scouring the net, I find numerous claims that Deka Now makes Napa batteries, which were previously built by Exide. Furthermore I have seen much praise for Crown batteries. Interstate some claim are Deka. The big box and national chain auto stores are Johnson Controls built. Delco is said to be Johnson. John Deere "Strong Box" batteries are said to be Exide built. I've had JD batteries last 5 years in a JD 214 LGT. Now I think of the defunct manufacturers like Willard, Prestolite (who made I.H.C and Chrysler OEM), North State, FirePower, Fisk, Auto-Lite (pre FoMoCo), EverReady, Ray O Vac, and Burgess. Nothing is simple anymore. FWIW. SoS
